ENTRY
REQUIREMENTS FOR VERSION TWO OF THE NZDIPBUS PROGRAMME
Students
less than 20 years old must have: " a minimum of 14 numeracy credits
at level one or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National
Qualifications Framework " fifty credits at level two or above with
at least 12 credits in each of three subjects including a minimum
of 8 literacy credits at level two or higher in English or te reo
M?ori; 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing.
The literacy credits will be selected from a schedule of approved
achievement standards and unit standards " Or equivalent to both
the above.
nternational
students where English is a second language must also have an IELTS
score of 6.0 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5 or
TOEFL score of 550 or an equivalent exam/test *Equivalent Ivy College
has an equivalent testing system.
Students
enrolling in the New Zealand Diploma in Business programme and do
not have the required score of IELTS 6 will have to submit to Ivy
College their achievement of IELTS 6 within the first two months
of enrolment. Any student failing to do so will be withdrawn from
the NZDipBus programme and asked to join the ESOL .
Minimum
enrolment numbers: Ivy College will only be able to offer a particular
prescription or paper if there are a minimum of five students enrolled
in that paper. The maximum students per class are twenty.
Student fees protection
POLICY:
STUDENT FEE PROTECTION
Student's
fees are protected in a NZQA approved trust fund.
PROCEDURE:
STUDENT FEE PROTECTION Ivy College New Zealand has set up a trust
account in compliance with the legislated refund requirements of
Section 236A of the Education Act 1989 as follows. The trust account
is managed and administrated by a solicitor who is independent of
Ivy College. Details of the trust account for Ivy College are are
available in the invoice and enrolement form
Student
fees are paid directly into the trust account. 2. The fees are then
divided and drawn down into monthly instalments at the end of each
month and transferred to Ivy College New Zealand in the first week
of the following month. 3. Therefore, any unearned fees are protected
against insolvency and possible de-regulation by NZQA. 4. Ivy College
will advise the independent administrator of the trust account on
a monthly basis, prior to any payments received in the event of
insolvency, de-regulation or withdrawal of accreditation by NZQA.
Refund Policy For International Students
REFUND
POLICY
Fees
will be refunded promptly by Ivy College of New Zealand in the case
of cancellation, or due to a failure to obtain a visa or permit,
as per the refund policy outlined below. When payment has been received
through a study consultant (an agent or a student representative),
Ivy College will refund the payment to that consultant (agent).
The whole process may take two to five weeks from the time of the
refund request received/review made/approval made by Ivy College.
The costs due to any additional services such as airport pick up,
tour services, insurance purchase, text book purchase, homestay
arrangements etc., that were already purchased or used by the student
prior to withdrawal will be retained by Ivy College. Overseas money
transfer fee will also be deducted.
For courses of less than 5 weeks 14 days or more before course commencement
100% refund. Withdrawal up until the end of the 2nd day of a course
less than 5 weeks - 50% refund of total fees paid. No refund from
day 3 onwards.
For
courses between 5 weeks and 12 weeks 14 days or more before course
commencement 100% refund. Withdrawal up until the end of the 5th
day of a course longer than 5 weeks but less than 12 weeks - 75%
refund of total fees paid. No refund from day 6 onwards.
For
courses of 13 weeks and longer Withdrawal up until the end of the
8th day of a course longer than 13 weeks - 100% refund less administration
costs of up to 10% of the total fee or $500, whichever is the lesser.
No refund from day 9 onwards.
REFUND PROCEDURE 1. A student must submit a refund request in writing.
Refund forms are available from reception 2. Once the student fills
in the form it should be handed over to the counsellor who will
then check it for errors and validity. The form then has to be passed
to the designated employee to authorise the refund. 3. The student
has to be advised about the outcome of the application and the time
frames involved for the refund to be processed if approved.
