Full details on entitlements to publicly-funded health services are
available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on their
website at http://www.moh.govt.nz

Other Costs relating to study at IVY College |
Resource Fee
The cost of this fee is $2 for every week a student intends to study
at Ivy College.
Textbook
Students must purchase or borrow the main textbook used for their studies. The textbooks are approximately $50 to purchase, but students may choose to borrow the textbook from the school for a charge of $5 to $10 per month, after they have paid a bond of $50. Students may see the course teacher or administration staff for details and to find out where to purchase these.
Stationery
For all classroom studies in the English Language School, every student will need to purchase an exercise book or paper to write on and pens or pencils to write with. These will cost approximately $5 per month of study.
Dictionary
Students will need their own English Dictionary, which may cost about $50. Students may like to consider purchasing a bilingual dictionary from their own country before coming to New Zealand, however this is not compulsory.
Photocopying
The students' fees will cover photocopying of any non-textbook class handouts, however students are provided with only one copy of the class handouts, and are expected to file them for future use.
Activities outside school
Class outings with an educational aim may be arranged occasionally, and these may involve a small cost to the students, however, if the cost is high the students and parents/guardians will be notified well in advance. Typical activities may include a visit to a movie theatre (cost is about $14 adult, $8 child), or to a museum (about $5), or to a location nearby (bus fare $2).
Rental accommodation
A homestay situation for students can be a very rewarding way to integrate into the New Zealand society in a friendly environment. However, for students who prefer to find their own accommodation in Auckland, the rental costs for a typical three-bedroom house would be about $520 per week. Otherwise, a single bedroom would be approximately $200, which may not include either food or power/phone costs.
These prices only give an indication of the rental and accommodation costs for living in Auckland. Students may make further enquires by reading the local newspaper or Real Estate Agents rental division for their specific needs for accommodation in Auckland.
All costs are in New Zealand Dollars and are Goods and Services Tax (GST) inclusive.

IVY College of New Zealand takes all practicable steps to ensure the health and safety of students while attending the College.
In the event of accident, appropriate first aid will be administered immediately if any qualified staff are available, and the ambulance service will be notified.
Procedures are consistent with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1992.
Please note, that in the unfortunate case of an accident causing serious injury to a student in the care of IVY College of New Zealand, ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation, a national insurance scheme) will cover this occurrence. However, ACC will not cover contraction of diseases. Therefore, it is a condition of entry to IVY College of New Zealand that students take out Health Insurance before leaving their country of origin to cover contraction of diseases while overseas.
