What Ivy Students Say About IVY

Hi there!

My name is Junghoon. I come from Korea. I¡¯ve been studying at Ivy English School for 4 months now. I¡¯m also attending its Diploma in Business Course.

Ivy is a pretty good place to study English: you get good teachers, nice friends and helpful English references.

We¡¯ve got a new teacher now, Mrs Aksana who is a very bright woman.

The building is located at a wonderful place ¨C in Queens street, where you have access to everything: cafes, shops, CD stores, etc.

The atmosphere at Ivy is very welcoming and stimulating. And you get to use the Internet for free, which is cool ¡®cause you can easily get some info or read news, or write e-mails.

Hello, My name is Yuta Imanishi (Japan).

I¡¯m learning English in the Ivy Intermediate class.

In the class, we focus on grammar and vocabulary. We make use of various textbooks and speak and practice our communication skills a lot.

I always hear from my teachers: ¡°Don¡¯t be shy¡± and ¡°Be active!¡± and I found these extremely useful (Really, don¡¯t be shy and ask questions, especially if you want to improve your spoken language).

At Ivy, you get to learn the differences between cultures and countries because you study in class with students from all over the world.

Hi, I¡¯m Huan Yu Zhang (China).

My English friends call me Eve.

I¡¯ve been at Ivy for almost 6 months now.

I really enjoy studying at Ivy. I¡¯ve made lots of friends, I¡¯ve learnt a lot.

The teachers at Ivy are very kind and friendly. I feel very confident and comfortable in class. The school is big and modern.

Every Friday afternoon the teachers take us out for different activities: movies, lunch together, gym, girls¡¯ talk in a coffee shop ¨C it¡¯s fun! They encourage us to speak English outside the classroom and to get to know New Zealand better.

My name is Yukiko.

I¡¯m from Nagoya, Japan.

I¡¯m studying in the Ivy IELTS class with Mr Steve in the mornings, and with Mrs Aksana in the afternoon.

Our classes are usually small, there¡¯re no more than 8-10 students there. So you get a lot of opportunity to speak in class. I believe it¡¯s very helpful in my studies.

As I said, the classes are not big, so we make friends easily.  I met Masako, Allen, Icy and many other new friends here. Thanks, Ivy! J

We have access to computers at school, but not many of them could be used to type in Japanese, so I hope Ivy could get more computers, right J?

Every Friday Ivy College teachers organize activities for us ¨C visiting museums, galleries, gym, lunch together  - it¡¯s so GREAT!!!

In a word, Ivy is FUN!J
